I was admitted to the New Mexico Bar in September of 1980. I retired from the private practice of law after twenty nine years to seek the Republican nomination for a seat on the bench in the 12th Judicial District Court.
On January 11, 2010, Governor Bill Richardson (D) appointed me to fill the remaining term of Judge Sandra A. Grisham, following her early retirement. Unfortunately I was only able to win a majority of the voters in Otero County. Losing by a larger number of votes in Lincoln County I was unable to stand for election in the November 2010 General Election.
I truly appreciate all of the fine friends who supported me in the primary election. My eleven months on the bench were the most rewarding time of my entire 30 years in the law. My judicial experience now makes me the best lawyer I have every been.
